This Assistant Accountant role is a very varied position, which is offering £30-35k, study support for an accounting qualification and potential progression in the future to Management Accountant. The position is ideal for someone who is studying an accounting qualification and has month end experience, but is looking to develop their accounting expertise further.

Our client is a market leading manufacturing business, which has over 25 sites throughout the globe.

Job Description

You will be working as part of a small finance team of 3 and will be reporting into the Finance Director. You will be based from the manufacturing site at Castleford (no home working is provided). Your duties will be very varied, and will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Assisting in management accounting data collection
  • Month end journal preparation and posting
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Updating the cashbook
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Assisting with quarterly VAT returns
  • Producing weekly sales reports
  • Sales ledger reporting
  • Assisting with payroll preparation
  • Supporting with driving improvements across the finance function



The Successful Applicant

To apply for this position you must:

  • have experience of working in finance
  • have some experience of month end duties
  • be studying an accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or AAT)



What's on Offer

  • £30,000-£35,000 dependent upon experience
